Federal Law Regarding the Discipline of Students with Disabilities

On-Demand Webinar

Federal law regarding the discipline of students with disabilities is complex. It requires public schools to serve students who may be disruptive or violent, while maintaining a safe campus for all. The Toolbox breaks this down into easily understood, practical strategies that are available under the law. In this presentation we will provide an intro to the ten “tools,” with a particular emphasis on positive behavior plans.

The presentation will be led by Jim Walsh, who has had a 40-year career in school law. Jim currently works at Walsh-Gallegos and is a former member of the Board of Directors for the National Council of School Attorneys. In 2017, he was recognized by his peers in the School Law Section of the State Bar with the Kelly Frels Lifetime Achievement Award
